A Great Regional Conference – With or Without the Travel.  Great Lakes ALSB is offering a hybrid conference, with a virtual option for those who prefer not to travel.  Grand Valley State University will serve as host (and principal location) of the Great Lakes ALSB 2021 Conference on October 22, 2021.  To minimize travel costs and provide small group gatherings, simultaneous satellite locations will include Butler University and the University of Cincinnati – UC Blue Ash College to meet the needs of regional attendees.  Whether you decide to attend in person at one of these locations or virtually from the comfort of your home or office, please join us in making this Great Lakes ALSB 2021 Conference memorable as we say goodbye to COVID-19.

The annual meetings provide great opportunities to interact with colleagues interested in business law-related subjects. Presentations occur in a cordial and supportive environment.

Great Lakes ALSB is looking forward to increasing the level of involvement by students and faculty from diverse disciplines. Colleagues from accounting (e.g., tax, forensic, IFRS conversion), management (e.g., executive compensation, corporate governance, labor law), finance (e.g., complex financial instruments, securities and banking regulation), marketing (e.g., anticompetitive practices, trademarks, privacy vs. social media), information systems (e.g., identity theft, legal issues in cloud computing), economics (regulation of monopolies, protection of intellectual property), human resources, and other areas are often heavily engaged in legal topics. Encouraging multidisciplinary collaboration and scholarship is a high priority for us.

Additional information regarding the fall conference is posted under the menu item Registration Information.  There you will find registration information and a call for participation.  More details forthcoming.

Please join us for the MAALSB annual meeting on March 18-19, 2022 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We are very excited to be able to gather together in person this year for the first time since 2019! Please note that we will also have a virtual attendance option.

Historically, the annual MAALSB conference has hosted stimulating academic presentations, interesting conversations with colleagues, and a fun atmosphere within which to discuss business law and ethics. We expect this conference to continue these fantastic traditions. We also offer our Best Conference Paper Award with a $250 cash prize.

The early-bird registration deadline is December 31, 2021. Regular registration ends February 25, 2022. Please note that registration will be limited to 40 in-person participants. All participants must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. We will also have limitations on the number of presentations we can host since we will only be hosting one session at a time, so papers will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. We will also be offering an option to virtually attend the conference. Virtual attendance will be for watching presentations only.

We will not be hosting virtual presentations.

Please review the enclosed FAQ and feel free to reach out with other questions. We look forward to seeing you in March!
